Responsibilities and package

The successful candidate will be managing a sales team of four field sales people, plus four internal sales people including an internal sales manager. You will carry your own target for which you will get paid uncapped commission; your team will also be targeted and when successful you will be paid a fixed bonus of £20k per annum as well. In addition there is a car allowance and equity package. The company is being groomed for IPO and if  successful you will be a part of this and progress to UK Sales Director in due course.

You will be an accomplished sales manager/director with plenty of experience of managing high performing sales teams. You will also be a top performing sales person in your field. You will have experience of selling within a high tech industry, preferably industrial IT, but other areas would be considered, although not retail. Satellite Systems Engineer

This role involves the long term development of software tools designed to aid spectrum planning for this satellite operator.
Key responsibilities of the position:
Perform (and document) technical analyses of congestion, interference and anomaly events, and propose system modifications/improvements and/or the development of new tools based on these analyses.
Produce ad hoc software tools in the performance of these analyses.
Oversee and manage the development of software planning tools. These will include SSPT, FPS, the CFM and the Yield Tool.
Liaise with other departments/divisions about forthcoming upgrades and developments, to assess whether SMOP needs additional tools to handle these developments efficiently
Provide on call support for the operation of the GRM and FPS systems.
Maintain the departmental technical library.

Satellite In Orbit Test Engineer

Our client, a UK based satellite operator is responsible for the payload In-Orbit Test (IOT) activities of the Galileo satellites for the European Space Agency.
As a member of the TT&C Group (Satellite Control Department), the individual will join the Galileo In-Orbit Test (IOT) team and provide technical and programmatic contributions to the project. This will cover the whole lifecycle of the project, from consolidation of requirements and specifications to be formalised through formal Design Reviews, to tendering and procuring large infrastructure elements such as antennas and the IOT Measurement System, to developing and validating the IOT operational procedures, and finally to organising, co-ordinating and conducting the actual IOT campaigns.
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
University degree in electrical or electronic engineering or equivalent;
Relevant satellite communications experience or equivalent abilities, with some exposure to earth station RF satellite measurement systems design, implementation and testing;
Ability to form and lead matrix-type cross-boundaries teams;
Good written and spoken command and communications skills in English;
Ability to prioritise and to work well under pressure.

Satellite Systems Engineer

Our client is a well established Satellite Operator based in Germany. They have immediate plans to recruit a Satellite Systems Engineer.

This is a contract role paid at a rate of €430 per day. Initial contract is for two years with an option for an extra year after that.

Satellite Systems Engineer spec

The tasks for the Satellite Systems Engineer are as follows:

The responsibilities of the consultant concern primarily end-to-end system level activities;

e.g., data acquisition, processing and dissemination concepts and achievable timeliness;

impact of orbit selection and satellite configuration on the system and ground segment; allocation of geolocation requirements and establishment of related budgets; optimisation of spatial coverage versus instrument performance; verification of end-to-end functions and performances via analysis, test, etc.

 

The tasks will typically include the following:

*        Contribution to the generation and maintenance of system requirements, the allocation of requirements to the next lower level and the generation and maintenance of traceability matrices.

*        Execution of system level analyses; this can include performance and review of Mission Analysis, Functional Analysis, architectural and design trade-offs, contributions to RAMS/FMECA, the investigation of anomalies, etc.

*        Development and/or maintenance of methods and tools to support the top-down allocation of end-to-end performance requirements and the bottom-up establishment of system budgets.

*        Evaluation and trade-off of different system concepts; establishment and documentation of a system architecture and design, including the description of system level interfaces.

*          As needed, support to the definition and scope of relevant studies to be performed by external agencies and/or industry and evaluation of the results of such studies.

*        Contribution to the execution of system tests, in particular by analysis of test results and establishment of compliance with system requirements.

*        Participation in reviews and meetings at system level and support to meetings and reviews at satellite and ground segment level.

*        Support for the overall planning and coordination of system engineering

Profile

The activities to be covered by this consultancy require a senior system engineer, with a profound expertise in all areas relevant for satellite systems and an adequate duration of professional work in this field. In particular, the consultant shall have the following experience and background:

 

*        University degree in the domain of physics, engineering, science, or equivalent.

*        At least 8 years of experience in the field of system engineering of satellites and/or related ground systems, preferably in the area of Low Earth Orbiting (LEO) polar satellites.

*        This experience must also cover the overall planning of system engineering activities and the coordination and technical guidance of other engineers contributing to the activities.

*        Familiarity with complex systems including monitoring and control of satellites and near real-time data processing and dissemination.

*        Ability to analyse complex systems and to present them in a comprehensible way, with the specific, ability to understand relevant details while keeping the focus on the overall system aspects.

*        Demonstrated capability to prepare design documents and to perform and document system-level analyses in a clear and concise way.

*        Experience with the development cycle of large systems from the definition of requirements to system design and testing.

*        Familiarity with standards used for space programmes.

*        Experience in the operations or operation preparation of LEO satellites would be an asset.

The consultant shall be able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan his/her work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. He/she shall have the capability to write accurate and concise technical documentation. Very good communication skills (verbal and written) are important. He/she shall have the experience with working in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies.

Tasks for the QA Support Consultant role

The Consultant shall work in the Quality Assurance Division. The tasks of the Consultant

will typically be split in to 4 main components include

 

1.       Contribute to the Business Improvement Initiative

The main tasks in this area are

·         Provision of inputs on improvement methodology for development of the Business

Improvement Initiative

·         Review of concepts and implementation documents for the Business Improvement

Initiative

·         Contribution to the support and education of employees on QA concepts, including the development of training materials

·         Provision of methodological and editorial support for the maintenance of Activity

Category Models (including Work Flow models using IDEF0 notation) for designated

2.       Organise and Perform Internal and Contractor Quality Audits

 

In this area the consultant will be required to

·         Organise the schedule of internal audits and maintain an audit plan

·         Participate in internal audits, either as lead or support auditor, and prepare reports on

these audits

4.       Provide Support to QA Engineers in the Field of Metric Production

 

The organisation continuously seeks to refine a comprehensive set of process indicators to assist management in factual decision making. In that endeavour the organisation intends to move from the current set of metrics and indicators to a more business oriented, data-driven

management approach. In this context it is vital that the chosen metrics provide relevant,

useful data that can be used to make informed business decisions and that the temptation to

'measure for the sake of measurement' is resisted.

In that area the consultant will be asked to provide support in defining relevant indicators,

gathering related data, presenting them in graphical form and analysing the trends, to derive

improvement actions as appropriate.

Profile

Consultant shall have the following qualifications and experience

·         Qualified QMS Lead Auditor and Member of a recognised Professional

Quality/Auditing Institute or Association.

·         At least 3 years experience of managing internal & external quality audit programmes

in a process oriented environment using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool

(ideally SAP).

·         Experience of implementing a continuous improvement programmes, ideally in large

multi-cultural public sector environments.

·         A customer focused approach to the application of quality standards and internal

auditing

·         Hands on experience with MS-Office package and in particular with MS-Access

·         Capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with the minimum of supervision.

·         First class communication skills (in English) - both verbal and written and proven

ability of being able to work at all levels of the organisation

In addition, it would be a distinct advantage for the Consultant to have experience of some of

the following

·         Experience and qualifications in other management systems standards such as ISO

270012005, ISO/IEC 2000, ISO 140012004, TickIT

·         Experience and technical background in the field of large space based systems

·         At least 5 years experience of implementing and developing ISO 9000 based Quality

Management Systems (QMS) in large complex international organisations,

·         Experience of other quality and service management tools & methodologies i.e. ITIL,

EFQM, CMMI, Lean Management etc and proven track record of proposing innovative and value-adding new approaches.

·         Working knowledge of European Space Standards ECSS

·         Hands on experience using process flow modelling tools (preferably using IDEF0-

notation), configuration control tools such as Serena Dimensions and the MS Office

package.

 

The Consultant shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner,

shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the
